Answer To Expensive Church Construction
Adaptive Reuse Concept
Many pastors who have struggled with the costs associated with the purchase of new land and a new structure have discovered an answer. It is “Adaptive Reuse” of existing buildings. In many cases it is the most sound financial stewardship decision for the church. It is often an environmentally responsible solution as well.
“Adaptive Reuse” is taking space and adapting it for your church building instead of building new buildings. This approach can save thousands if not millions of dollars over the construction of a new similar facility. During these tough economic times, churches must stretch their funds as far as possible. “Adaptive Reuse” has been used by many of our churches recently, and could be the answer for many more of our pastors.
Buildings that are typically adapted for churches are theaters, warehouses, retail centers, etc. The advantages include ample parking, utilities and infrastructures that are already in place saving multiple thousands of dollars. This translates into inexpensive square foot costs.
Presently our church construction partner is working with two of our churches using the “Adaptive Reuse Concept.” One is a former lumber company that gives the church almost a full city block. Another is a mall that has been purchased that has tenants who pay monthly rent. The rental income will make the entire monthly church payments. They will have an entire new facility being paid for by someone else for a fraction of the cost per foot.
Contact Zion Church Builders, Don Chapman, at 269-806-1248 for a free consultation. The answer to your needs for a new church facility at a price you can afford may be around the corner in a building already built with parking waiting for you to adapt and reuse for the house of God in your community.
